Mitered Square Baby Blanket

This is the incomplete baby blanket next to the incomplete baby that will be sleeping with it. I am trying to knit all kinds of sleep energy in to the blanket for my friend Terra who hopes that the baby will sleep for its entire first year of life. I am sure that she will kill me be over-joyed that I have posted this picture here. I know it is hard to see her face because of the HUGE BELLY that is taking up the entire picture. Her mouth is open because she was going on and on about something ... something like not getting her face ... or something like that, but I couldn't hear because her HUGE BELLY was dampening all the sound waves in the room.

Super Spiral Shawl Knit-a-long

The knitting bitches are doing a knit-a-long for this lace shawl from Meg Swanson's A Gathering of Lace . I admit, Ruthee had to do the cast on for me. I am afraid that if I had to do the cast-on myself it would have ended violently. Luckily for my family, she graciously offered to save me from that nerve racking hell.

After she did the cast on it was easy going! Everyone things that my choice of yarn was insane, but it seems to be turning out nicely. I am excited to see how it will turn out and whether I will actually finish it.
